Social Media Reacts To GT Win Over DC: Gujarat Titans defeated the Delhi Capitals in Match 60 of the Indian Premier League 2025 by 10 wickets. In a match where over 400 runs were scored, several records were broken on both sides. But more importantly, GT qualified for the playoffs and took two teams with them.

The DC vs GT match in IPL 2025 was played in the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The away side won the toss and decided to bowl first. KL Rahul and Faf du Plessis opened the innings for the Capitals. However, Faf was dismissed for just five runs in 10 deliveries as Delhi lost their first wicket in the powerplay.

Then, KL and Abhishek Porel stabilised the innings, with Rahul taking charge of the remaining runs. Porel got out for 30 in 19 in the 12th over, while captain Axar Patel made 25 off 16 before getting out. Rahul, along with a quick-scoring Tristan Strubbs, finished the inning. The veteran Indian wicketkeeper/batter scored his first century of the season, making 112 off 65 with 14 fours and 4 sixes.

This ton made KL Rahul the first batter in IPL history to make tons for three different franchises in the league, as he has scored centuries for the Punjab Kings and the Lucknow Super Giants before, while captaining those sides. DC ended their 20-over inning at 199/3.

But the highlights of this match were not going to be about KL Rahul and the Delhi Capitals, as the Gujarat Titans did something unbelievable. Not only did they win the match, chasing the 200-run target down in 19 overs with ease, but the Titans also didn’t even lose a wicket.

That’s right, Gujarat won this match, where they had to chase down 200 runs, by 10 wickets. The opening duo of Sai Sudharsan and captain Shubman Gill got the job done by themselves. While Gill made 93 off 53 and was not out, Sudharsan scored a hundred, making 108 off 61.

This made this game not only a rare instance of two centuries in a single IPL game but also the biggest target chased in a 10-wicket win in league history.

So naturally, after such a historic match, social media went into overdrive as fans of the teams and of the league discussed this game across platforms. Many fans congratulated GT on a dominant win, on how the team won in comprehensive fashion and on how this win confirmed their playoff qualification.

Fans also sang praises of Sai Sudharsan, who, with his century today, climbed to the top of the IPL 2025 Orange Cap list with 617 runs in 12 matches.

People also cheered on KL Rahul, whose century got lost in the shuffle after the match, but was a memorable inning still.

As stated before, with today’s win, the Titans have qualified for the IPL 2025 playoffs. They are currently at the top of the league table with nine wins and 18 points in 12 matches. Meanwhile, the Capitals are down in fifth with six wins and 13 points in 12 matches. They will need to win both their remaining matches to book a place in the top four.
