Smriti Mandhana Scores Consecutive 100 Vs SA: Smriti Mandhana and captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored centuries in the Indian Women’s Cricket Team’s second ODI against South Africa and scored the team’s third-highest score in the format ever.
While the men’s teams are busy with the 2024 T20 World Cup in the US and the West Indies, India and South Africa’s women’s teams are playing a three-match ODI series in India, with all three matches taking place in Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The second game of the series is currently underway. South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first. India got off to a very slow start, with Mandhana and Shafali Varma taking things slow in the early proceedings. In the 12th over, with the team at 38, Shafali lost her wicket.
India picked up their pace a little as Dayalan Hemalatha walked onto the pitch and mostly supported Smriti’s attacks. The team crossed the 100-run mark in the 22nd over and immediately lost Hemalatha’s wicket.

But this is where things got good for India, as captain Harmanpreet Kaur came out to bat. The two star batters complimented each other well, and the batters started picking apart the bowlers from both ends.
As the team crossed the 200-run mark, Smriti Mandhana reached her century. Her fabulous inning of 136-off-120 ended only in the 46th over, as the score was 271/3. From here, Harmanpreet and wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh picked up the run-scoring pace.
While Richa scored 25-off-12, Kaur reached her century with two boundaries and a six in the last over, finishing her inning at 103-off-88.
India’s fine display of batting brought them to 325/5 at the end of 50 overs. This is the third-largest score by India in W-ODIs.
