Smriti Mandhana Demolishes Ireland Bowling: Indian Women’s Cricket Team captain and batter Smriti Mandhana went ballistic in her team’s most recent match against the Irish Women’s Cricket Team. In the attached video, we will see how she scored sixes for fun on her way to a cracking 100.
Today was the third match of the three-ODI IND-W vs IRE-W series. India, which is coming off massive series wins over the West Indies, has won its first two matches against the Irish by six wickets and 116 runs, respectively.
This third match is being played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium (aka Niranjan Shah Stadium) in Rajkot, Gujarat. The hosts won the toss on this batting-friendly surface and decided to bat first.
This immediately turned out to be the correct decision, as the opening pair of veteran captain Smriti Mandhana and young batter Pratika Rawal hit the ground running and started scoring quick runs at a pace similar to T20 cricket.
The first half of the Indian inning was the Smriti/Rawal show, of which Mandhana was the lead actor. While both women scored fast runs, the skipper took her slogging to another level.

Mandhana would go on to not only reach her 50 but would double it and score a 100, even going well past that and scoring 135 runs. But that is not the most noteworthy part, which is how quickly she scored her ton. She reached the three-digit mark in just 70 deliveries, which is the quickest century by an Indian woman in ODI cricket.
Her 135 runs came in a mere 80 deliveries, which means that she had no intentions of slowing down after reaching her hundred. Pratika Rawal played more of an anchor role in this inning, scoring 154 runs in 129 deliveries, which is the third-highest individual score by an Indian in women’s ODI.
On a day of breaking records, India ended up putting up a score of 435/5 at the end of 50 overs, which is the largest score by the Indian Women’s Cricket Team in ODI cricket.
