SL vs SA Match Highlights And Report-T20 WC: The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium is proving to be a challenging venue for the batters. The pitch is tricky, slow, and has inconsistent bounce, while the outfield is large and sluggish. All of it combined to produce a lackluster game between South Africa and Sri Lanka on Monday, which the Proteas won by six wickets after the bowler blew the Lankans away.
Anrich Nortje produced his best figures in T20Is (4/7), as the Asian side was bundled for only 77. This was, however, not an easy chase for South Africa, who would have thought to gun it down quickly and gain a huge net run rate boost. It took them 16.2 overs to get to the target of 78 runs.

Sri Lanka captain Wanindu Hasaranga won the toss and elected to bat first. There was, though, very little joy for Sri Lanka in their innings as they managed to hit only three sixes and three fours in 19.1 overs. The highest score of their innings was 19 runs.
Ottneil Baartman took the first breakthrough, that of opener Pathum Nissanka, caught at deep thirdman. Nortje went bang-bang to bounce out Kusal Mendis and Kamindu Mendis as Sri Lankan batters simply couldn’t get runs; they managed only 24 runs in the powerplay.
Left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj got into the act with two wickets on consecutive deliveries: Hasaranga played a foolish shot by dancing down the track and got stumped before Samarawickrama got a beauty and was bowled.
In the same spell, Nortje dismissed Asalanka, caught at deep square leg, and Sri Lanka slipped to 46/6. Shanaka and Mathews hit three sixes in total, but Rabada returned to castle Shanaka, while Nortje used another short ball to get rid of Mathews.
Sri Lanka were bowled out for 77, which is now their lowest total in a completed T20I innings.

The pitch wasn’t easy for the Protea batters either, but with a small target to chase, they could afford to take their time. South Africa lost Reeza Hendricks to Nuwan Thusara and Aiden Markram to Shanka in the powerplay. They managed only 27 runs in six overs.
Quinton de Kock broke his shackles with a six against Mathews but then gave a return catch to Hasaranga. Tristan Stubbs struggled in his knock of 13 (28) and got out to the Lankan skipper. Klaasen, however, managed to smoke Hasaranga for a six and four. Klaasen and Miller completed the chase in the 17th over.
Score summary: Sri Lanka 77/10 in 19.1 overs (Kusal Mendis 19, Anrich Nortje 4/7); South Africa 80/4 in 16.2 overs (Quinton de Kock 20, Wanindu Hasaranga 2/22). South Africa defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets.
