Simon Doull Criticizes the Batting of MS Dhoni: Though CSK lost their last match against DC, the limelight was stolen by one and only MS Dhoni for his final overblast over bowlers. But the former CSK captain couldn’t sail the ship ashore as the capitals sank CSK for 20 runs.
Simon Doull Criticizes the Batting of MS Dhoni
Dhoni scored 37 runs from 16 balls, but New Zealand pacer Simon Doull thinks MSD wasted a lot of deliveries initially. Doull said that Dhoni’s defensive approach is concerning.
“While Dhoni’s innings generated much excitement, his overly defensive approach raised concerns. He faced too many dot balls and was reluctant to take runs, even when they seemed available. Despite Dhoni’s stature as a legendary player, his decision to not capitalize on scoring opportunities was questionable and disappointing.” said Doull on Cricbuzz.
Doull also criticized Dhoni’s denial of taking singles.
“You’re still trying to win the game, and I understand this was his first time batting in a long while. He’s probably hoping to regain his form. However, I didn’t agree with his actions in that situation. To me, it looked really bad. As I was watching, I thought his denial to take singles didn’t seem right in that situation.”
