Shubman Gill Has A Good Problem to Solve: Gujarat Titans have been thrilling, joyous, and nearly immaculate to watch. Their players have got a new vibe that is entirely different from what they had in a struggling 2024 season. And their collective performance as a unit has paid off well so far as they sit at the top of the IPL 2025 points table.
Their last prey was a dangerous Rajasthan Royals under the leadership of Sanju Samson. GT, though had a hiccup at times during the match, completely owned the Royals at the Ahmedabad stadium.
Batting first, despite losing the captain Gill early in the match to the flamethrowing Jofra Archer, Titans were calm, and managed it quite well to score 217 in front of RR’s great batting line-up. Sai Sudarshan’s spectacular 82(53) and Shahrukh Khan and Jos Buttler’s cameos were the backbone of the innings.
“Good total put up,” Gill said after the match. “It was not easy, the first three fours overs, it was nipping. Sai and Jos batted tremendously. We’d take 220 any day.”

As there have been multiple standout performers for the team, choosing the player of the match has been quite challenging for DC. But according to he skipper, it’s a good problem to have.
“Everyone is chipping in, that’s the hallmark of a great team. If you are having difficulties in choosing who would be your man of the Match, then that is a good problem to have. And that’s been our hallmark as a team – everyone contributes, chips in, and good for us,” he added.
After the batters smashed RR, bowlers took over and battered the visitors to restrict them 58 runs below the required score. Gill lauded them.
“Very pleased. When you have got bowlers like we do, captaincy becomes easy, especially since the form all our bowlers are in. Whosoever I bring in, they are just happy to take wickets and contribute,” he said.
Gill is the captain but falls on the younger side of the squad. When asked about whether he gets bossed around by his senior players, Gill replied:
“Everyone is very nice. We have got Ishi bhai (Ishant Sharma), who has played 100 Tests for us, everyone is super nice.”

Shubman Gill and GT will travel to Lucknow to play against the in-form Lucknow Super Giants. The match, which will be taking place at the Ekana Cricket Stadium B Ground, will be played.
