But the youngster got hit by another bad luck in the form of an injury, as per BCCI.
Shubman Gill Gets Injured, Rests on Day 4
BCCI’s official X handle says Gill will not be available to field on the fourth day of the Test as he injured his index finger. It’s not yet clear how long it will take for the player to get healed.
Earlier, Gill was given an unofficial warning, followed by his consistent fall in front of the wicket, failing to play a mature innings. His scores underlined the criticisms, and as a breather, the recent Ton showed up, which was much more patient showcasing by the otherwise impatient batter.
The performance could have overturned his potential drop-out from the third Test. But now that the injury has popped up, we will have to wait to see if the 24-year-old turns out to be lucky once more.
