Shreyas Iyer Named ICC POTM For March 2025: Indian Cricket Team batter Shreyas Iyer has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March 2025. He pipped New Zealanders Rachin Ravindra and Jacob Duffy to win this award.

Iyer played a significant role in the Men in Blue’s victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which was played in February-March of this year. He was his team’s highest run scorer and the second-highest run scorer of the entire competition, scoring 243 runs in five games at an average of 48.60, including two half-centuries.
In the month of March 2025, Shreyas played three massive CT 2025 matches; these included the group game against New Zealand, the semi-final against Australia, and the final against the Kiwis, all played on the tough pitches of Dubai. In these matches, he scored 79, 45, and 48, respectively. This brings his average in the international matches he played in March to 57.33, having scored 172 runs across three games.
Due to the IPL, not much international cricket was played in March. The competition for the Player of the Month title was not too fierce. One of the other men in the race was Rachin Ravindra, who was named the Player of the Tournament of CT 2025 and was the highest run scorer.
The other man in the race was fellow BlackCap Jacob Duffy, who didn’t even play a match in the Champions Trophy 2025 but had good performances in the T20I series against Pakistan right after that tournament.

With the 30-year-old being named the Player of the Month, this is the second month in a row that an Indian has won this award, as Shubman Gill was given the same award for the month of February 2025.
Shreyas Iyer is currently captaining the Punjab Kings in IPL 2025. Not only is he leading the team to good results, having won three games in five matches, but he is personally having a fantastic tournament, having scored 250 runs in five games at an average of 83.33 and a scintillating strike rate of 208.33.
