Shikhar Dhawan Responds to His Asia Cup Omission: In India, cricket is the most popular sport. And new talents rise every day. To be a part of the national team is a tough road to take. To sustain in the squad isn’t easy either. After being a major part of the team for years and suddenly getting excluded from a major tournament isn’t sweet bread to bite. And this is what happened to Shikhar Dhawan as he got excluded from India’s upcoming Asia Cup 2023 squad.
The news of his exclusion from the squad left both fans and Dhawan himself taken aback, yet the seasoned cricketer remains resolute in his determination to make a triumphant comeback.
Dhawan’s omission came as a surprise to many, especially given his recent track record as a stand-in captain for India’s alternate squads. With India’s first-choice players unavailable for the Asian Games, Dhawan’s name seemed poised to be at the forefront, possibly even leading the team. However, the left-hand batter was left out entirely, with Ruturaj Gaikwad entrusted with the leadership mantle.
