Shah Rukh Khan Hugs Sourav Ganguly Post Match: Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner and Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan hugged Delhi Capitals mentor and former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly following the match between the two sides.
KKR took on DC in Match 47 of IPL 2024 at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens. The away team won the toss, chose to bat first, and almost immediately regretted the decision. This stadium saw the sides chasing do well in recent matches. So batting first went against conventional logic.

The Knight Riders easily chased the target down in the 17th over and never looked in a bind in what was one of the most one-sided matches this season.
Varun Chakravarthy was named Player of the Match for his brilliant spell of 3/16 in four overs.

Following the match, a video emerged of Shah Rukh Khan surprising Ganguly with a hug from behind as old friends reunited.
The association between Khan and Ganguly goes far beyond Shah Rukh being a lifelong cricket fan. When IPL started in 2008 and King Khan became part-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Sourav Ganguly was named the first-ever captain of the franchise, staying with them for three seasons.
The Delhi Capitals, who were on a two-match winning streak coming into this one, stay sixth in the table following this loss with five wins and 10 points in 11 matches. The Capitals will face table-toppers the Rajasthan Royals in their next game on May 7 in Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, as each contest becomes almost a must-win from now on.
While KKR improved their chances of playoff qualification with this win, They are now second on the table with six wins and 12 points in nine matches. The Knight Riders will face the Mumbai Indians in their next match on May 3 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
