Sarfaraz Khan Apologises To Sunil Gavaskar: Indian batter Safaraz Khan has reportedly apologised to legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar after the latter got was miffed by the former’s shot selection during the most recent Test match.
India recently took on England in the fifth and final Test match of the series in the beautiful Dharamshala Stadium. On Day 2 of the match, Sarfaraz, who was only playing his third Test match, scored a quickfire 60-ball-56.
He, along with debutant Devdutt Paddikal, stabilized the innings and took India to the tea break at 376/4.
In the first ball pf the next session, Sarfaraz attempted to be a little cheeky and play a late cut towards the third man region off of Shoaib Bashir. But he was caught in the slips by Joe Root.

Sunil Gavaskar, who was in the commentary box at the time, was furious with the shot selection, losing the wicket on the first ball of the session. The Little Master has this to say about the dismissal on commentary –
“The ball was not short to play that shot. He was playing the first ball after the break and should have given a himself some time before taking on the bowlers.”
He then continued to talk about the time the legendary Don Bradman told him about his batting approach.
“Don Bradman once told me that he treats every ball as if he is batting on zero even if his individual score is 200. And now look at Sarfaraz. He played a wrong stroke on the first ball of the session,”
said Gavaskar.

Sarfaraz Khan had met with the 74-year-old in his hotel room in Dharamshala before the match, with the two talking for 46 minutes.

As reported by UAE-based newspaper The National News, a Dubai-based businessman Shyam Bhatia arranged the meeting between the two. The two Mumbai batters had a discussion before the match.
“The two were together for 46 minutes. Then in the fifth Test, he got out to a bad shot. Sunil Gavaskar was miffed with him,”
Bhatia said.
After the match, Bhatia met with Sarfaraz Khan once again, and the youngster had this to say –
“Sir, please say sorry to Sunil Gavaskar. I made a mistake. I will not repeat it again,” Bhatia claimed Sarfaraz had this to say to Sunil Gavaskar.
