In an emotional ceremony, before the match, both players received the long-awaited cap, Sarfaraz from the legendary Anil Kumble and Dhruv from Dinesh Kartik.

Giving the Test cap to Sarfaraz, Anil Kumble gave an inspirational message for the batter. He was incredibly good in first-class Test cricket, and Kumble congratulated him on behalf of his hard work. The legendary spinner also didn’t forget to wish him a long career in whites.
“Really proud of you, the way you have come through. I am sure your dad and family are extremely proud of what you have achieved. I know you have done all the hard work. There were some disappointments but despite that, all the runs that you’ve scored through the domestic season have brought you here,” said Anil Kumble.
“Well done to you. I’m sure you will have lots of wonderful memories to make. It’s the start of a long career, only 310 people have played before you. All the best,” he added.

He congratulated Dhruv for reaching where he is despite struggles and reminded him that not a lot of people get the opportunity to play red-ball cricket as it’s the toughest format in the game.
