Samson Says Chahal Was Fired Up for This IPL: Rajasthan Royals continued their winning streak with their third consecutive victory in the IPL 2024, and this time, it was the Mumbai Indians who fell prey.
Sanju Samson’s team tied MI batters up to restrict them to just 125 runs, the lowest score this IPL has seen so far. RR went on to win the match by 6 wickets.
The main culprits for this win were the bowlers, including Trent Boult, Nandre Burger, and Yuzvendra Chahal. When the pace did inflict damage early into the game, it was Chahal’s spin mastery that took MI off later on. Chahal ripped off three wickets at the expense of just 11 runs in 4 overs.
Speaking in the post-match presentation, RR captain Sanju Samson had a lot of praise for the team.
“I think the toss was the game changer. The wicket was too sticky to start off, and the experience of Boult and Burger helped us. He’s playing since 10-15 years, and that is what we expected with the new ball. Didn’t expect 4-5 wickets to fall, but we knew our bowlers would do well. We know we have big individuals in our team, but where we stand out is everyone recognizes their role, does it, and moves on”, Samson said.
Sanju Samson Says Chahal Was Fired Up for This IPL
Sanju Samson went on to talk about Chahal and said that the spinner was fired up for this IPL, and he has been doing well in the past 2–3 years.
Moreover, praising Chahal, Sanju declared that the leg-spinner was fired up for this season of the IPL, as we can see in his performances. Even in this game, he picked up three wickets for just 11 runs in his four overs.
“The likes of Ash and Chahal realized we had a good powerplay, and they kept it tight without really looking for wickets. (On Chahal) I think he was really fired up for this IPL, and he’s been doing well for the past 2-3 years for us”, Samson added.
