Sami Zayn Injury Update After RAW Spot: WWE Superstar Sami Zayn has opened up about the insane barricade spot with Bron Breakker on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, revealing that he might have injured his shoulder during the move.
Sami took on Breakker in a 2-out-of-3 falls match for the Intercontinental Championship in the main event of RAW this week. This was a rematch of their Summerslam contest, where Breakker won the IC title from Zayn.
In what was an excellent match, there was a spot where the champ picked Sami up on his shoulder, ran about 20 feet and launched the Underdog From The Underground over the timekeeper barrier, across the timekeeper’s area, and in the barricade behind face-first like a lawn dart.
This might have been the most brutal spot on RAW in months and was certainly the most memorable moment of the night. The crowd certainly reacted the way they intended, with nervous shock and horror. Many assumed that Zayn had been seriously injured. So it came to the pleasant surprise of many that he then continued the match.
The way Sami Zayn hit the barricade, he could have had tons of injuries. From a dislocated shoulder to a compressed spine. But that is the ability of the former Intercontinental champion that he was able to avoid any injury.

Or so we thought, as the 40-year-old took to social media to claim that his shoulder has been hurting ever since that spot. But before that, he took some time to reflect upon the spot, claiming that how it encapsulates everything he loves about pro wrestling. He wrote this on X (formerly Twitter),
“So much of what I love about the art of wrestling is encapsulated in this short clip: unique characters & the dynamics between them, the legitimate threat of serious injury & the skill it takes to narrowly avoid it, a collective emotional response from thousands of people sharing a moment in time, expressed uniquely by each individual experiencing it. It’s a beautiful thing. (I realize this is a strange way to talk about almost getting killed.)”

In response to his reflection, Zayn gave an update about his physical health following the match, where he had this to say,
“Oooooh I *just* realized why my shoulder is killing me.”
Sami Zayn took the first fall of the match with a Helluva Kick, while Bron Breakker won the second with his signature spear. The match ramped in for the third and final fall. Sami jumped from the top rope and was intercepted by a spear, which won Breakker the third fall as he retained the IC title in the main event of Monday Night RAW.
