RR vs RCB Match Highlights And Report-IPL: This match can justifiably be encapsulated by this simple stat: Virat Kohli scored a 67-ball century before Jos Buttler slammed a 58-ball ton and took Rajasthan Royals over the line with five balls to spare.
This left RCB captain Faf du Plessis ruing that his side “could have added 10-15 runs” more to their total of 183 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday evening. According to Faf, the pitch was “tricky in the first innings” but it “definitely got better” when RR came out to chase.
This 6-wicket win for the Royals propelled them to the top of the points table with four wins in four games.

Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bowl first. While Faf and Kohli did put up a huge partnership of 125 (84), both were guilty of not really tearing into the RR bowlers. Faf scored 44 runs in 33 balls, while Kohli scored 72 runs in 51 balls in this stand.
This partnership going on for 14 overs also meant that the entry point for the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, and Rajat Patidar was delayed, while RCB didn’t even get to use Dinesh Karthik and potentially Mahipal Lomror.
Maxwell, debutant Saurav Chauhan, and Green managed single-digit scores. But the talking point remains Virat Kohli’s slowdown when approaching his century. Kohli was 87 (58), but then took 10 balls to score his next 13 runs. He did hit three fours in the last over, but that could take RCB to 183.

Rajasthan lost Yashasvi Jaiswal in the first over to Reece Topley. From thereon, though, Samson and Buttler utterly demolished the RCB bowling attack. The duo got going with some boundaries before Buttler blasted 20 runs off Mayank Dagar’s over, the last of the powerplay. That overturned the momentum as Buttler, who had struggled in his previous outings this season, got momentum and didn’t give an inch back to RCB.
Samson and Buttler targeted Himanshu Sharma, who conceded 29 runs in 2 overs, and Dagar, who was taken for 34 runs in 2 overs. Samson was dismissed for 69 (42) by Dayal, but by then his stand of 148 (86) with Buttler had effectively sealed the game for RCB.
RCB did manage to take the wickets of Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel for single-digit scores. But Buttler wasn’t going to allow RCB to make a comeback. With 1 run needed off the last six balls for RR to win and Buttler batting on 94*, the opener clattered Green for a maximum to reach his hundred and complete the chase.
