RR vs GT Match Highlights And Report-IPL: Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan delivered a scarcely believable finish to consign Rajasthan Royals to their first loss of the season. Tewatia and Rashid stunned the home crowd at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur with their partnership of 36 (14) before Rashid hit a boundary on the last ball of the match with two runs needed.
The winning juggernaut of the Royals has been halted. The platform for Gujarat’s chase of the target of 197 was laid by captain Shubman Gill’s 72 (44). GT slipped and looked out of the chase, but Rashid and Tewatia once again reminded everyone of GT’s fighting spirit that had led them to consecutive finals in the last two seasons.

Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to bowl. GT had a good start with the ball as the two RR openers, Jaiswal and Jos Buttler, were dismissed in the powerplay without doing much damage.
From thereon, Samson and Parag, who has simply been astonishing at number 4 this season, went after the RR bowlers barring Rashid Khan, who had dismissed Buttler. The pair gave utmost respect to Rashid, who ended with figures of 1/18, but tore into others: Umesh, Noor, and Mohit Sharma had an economy of more than 10 runs per over, and Spencer Johnson of 9.2.
The duo shared a stand of 130 (78); Samson smashed 68* (38) with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes, and Parag cracked 76 (48) with 3 fours and 5 sixes. RR finished with 196, which seemed a winning total on what wasn’t a flat surface in Jaipur.

GT openers, the pair of Gill and Sai Sudharsan, batted steadily without taking the usual amount of risks T20 openers generally do when chasing a total near 200. This could have been because of the knowledge that their middle order is undercooked with Miller injured. They formed an opening stand of 64 (50); Sudharsan scored 35 (29).
The pressure piled up, and GT lost three quick wickets, slipping from 64/0 to 79/3, all three wickets going to Kuldeep Sen. Chahal made a couple of dents of his own: first Vijay Shankar for 16 runs and then the big scalp of Gill, who scored 72 (44).
At 133/5 in the 16th over, the game was Rajasthan’s to lose. Then came a sensational comeback from the GT lower order. Shahrukh Khan smoked 14 (8) before Tewatia and Rashid stunned everyone, and they were aided by some ordinary, listless bowling from Sen and Avesh in the last couple of overs when 35 runs were required off 12 balls.
Sen conceded 20 in the 19th over, where he bowled one no-ball and two wides and was hit for three fours.
In the last over, Rashid hit Avesh for three fours, smartly using the angles and the field – RR were forced to bring one fielder extra inside the circle in the last over as a penalty for slow-over rate.
With 2 runs needed on the last ball, Avesh bowled a length ball outside off that Rashid fiercely cut and sent to the boundary line.
Score summary: Rajasthan Royals 196/3 in 20 overs (Riyan Parag 76, Rashid Khan 1/18); Gujarat Titans in 20 overs (Shubman Gill 72, Kuldeep Sen 3/41). GT defeated RR by 3 wickets.
