Roy Keane Slams Erik Ten Hag And Man United: Manchester United legend Roy Keane recently slammed manager Erik Ten Hag for praising club captain Bruno Fernandes for his leadership, claiming the current form and situation of the team should embarrass everyone involved.
Manchester United took on Everton in Goodison Park on Sunday, November 26. While United did win the contest 3-0, the match will be remembered for Alejandro Garnacho’s goal in the third minute. As Roy Keane Slams Erik Ten Hag And Man United, As Diego Dalot swung the ball into the box, Garnacho left the floor and then scored a majestic bicycle kick into the top right corner. A contender for the greatest Premier League goal of all time, the goal reminded fans of a similar goal scored by Wayne Rooney against Man City in 2011.

But it is Manchester United’s second goal that is the topic of conversation here. A penalty was given when Anthony Martial was tripped in the box in the 52nd minute. Bruno, who is the regular penalty taker for United, instead gave the opportunity to an out-of-form Marcus Rashford, who subsequently scored.
As per the Roy Keane Slams Erik Ten Hag And Man United, Following the match, manager Erik Ten Hag spoke about how important that goal was for Rashford’s confidence. He then praised Bruno Fernandes’ leadership and how it was a good move by him to pass the penalty on, he said –

“You see also how great a captain Bruno is to sense that his team-mate needed that goal. Bruno will net definitely, but he has confidence in Rashy who is a very good penalty-taker… As a team, you need that leadership that you back each other.”
As per Roy Keane Slams Erik Ten Hag And Man United, These remarks, however, did not sit well with Roy Keane. Covering the game as a pundit for Sky Sports, Keane rubbished Ten Hag’s compliments to Bruno and the team and suggested that he should instead focus on United’s position on the Premier League points table.

“He (Teg Hag) is giving toffee out there to Bruno for passing on the ball for the penalty. Absolute bloody rubbish. Absolute rubbish coming out with that. Manchester United are sixth now. If you went back a few years, if you were sixth you’d be embarrassed.”
A regular title contender and winner back, when Keane played for the team, The Red Devils are currently sixth in the Premier League table. While yes, being this low in the league would’ve been quite embarrassing back in the day, this, sadly, has been the reality for Manchester United ever since legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson retired 10 years ago.
