Roman Reigns Makes His WWE Return At Summerslam: Roman Reigns made his long-awaited return to WWE when he interfered in the main event of the Summerslam 2024 Premium Live Event to attack Solo Sikoa and let former rival Cody Rhodes retain his Undisputed WWE Championship.
Roman has not been seen on WWE TV since Night Two of WrestleMania 40, where it was Cody who ended his 1316-day reign with the WWE Universal Championship in the main event and finished his story.
Rhodes defended his WWE title against Sikoa, who fashions himself as the new ‘Tribal Chief’ and is the head of the new Bloodline, which consists of Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, and Jacob Fatu.
The championship match took place in the main event of WWE’s second-biggest premium live event of the year after WrestleMania, Summerslam, and was a ’Bloodline Rules’ match, which essentially means a no-disqualification match.

The two wrestled a regular match for about 15 minutes, at which point Tama and Tanga entered the ring and hounded upon the American Nightmare. In response, Kevin Owens, who feuded with the original Bloodline for years and has been a thorn in the side of the new version since the beginning, interfered on behalf of Rhodes.
To even up the number, Randy Orton ran down to the ring as well. Here, all the non-official match participants brawled their way to the back. With Cody and Solo being the only ones in the ring, it was Jacob Fatu’s turn to interfere.
The Samoan Warewolf superkicked the champion, laid him out, put him on the announcer’s table, and then hit a splash from the top turnbuckle in the ring.
It seems Fatu injured himself for real at this point. As he hit the splash, his ankle hit the table at an awkward angle. He failed to stand up following the move and was helped to back by referees after the match.

But coming back to the match, Solo Sikoa found himself with a laid-out Rhodes in the ring, at which point familiar music blared out in the arena. Roman Reigns’ theme song started playing as the Head of the Table appeared in front of WWE audiences for the first time in over 100 days.
The Tribal Chief made his way to the squared circle and went face-to-face with former rival Cody before hitting a Superman Punch on Solo. Sikoa had been calling Roman out for weeks before Summerslam.
After flattening Solo Sikoa, Reigns left the ring, leaving Cody Rhodes to hit three Cross Rhoades and retain his title in the main event of the Biggest Party of the Summer as the show closed.
The possibilities that The Bloodline storyline can go after Summerslam 2024 are endless, but fans will clamour to see former rivals Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns teaming up against Solo and crew in the near future.
