Rohit Sharma Takes Stunning Catch Vs Bangladesh: After two days of incessant rains, the drizzles finally stopped in Kanpur for the second of two India vs Bangladesh Test matches. And on this fourth day of the match, the Indian Cricket Team cleaned up the Bangla Tigers, with captain Rohit Sharma playing a role by taking a stunning catch of Liton Das.
On the first day of this match, it was the home team that won the toss and decided to field first. While batting, Bangladesh lost some early wickets, losing both their openers for less than thirty. At this point, Monimul Haque and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto built a decent partnership before the skipper departed as well.
After 35 overs being bowled on Day One, the score was 107/3 as the rains arrived. Not only was the day’s play ended, but not even a single ball was bowled over the next two days. On Day Three, there wasn’t much rain, but Kanpur’s Green Park has become water-legged.
The play finally resumed on Day Four, and Mushfiqur Rahim lost his wicket soon after. But it was Liton Das’ wicket in the 50th over that was the talk of the day. Playing on 13, the wicketkeeper-batter stepped out on Mohammed Siraj’s third ball of the over.
But instead of the ball sailing over Rohit Sharma at short-cover, the Indian captain leapt in the air, timed his jump perfectly, got his hand to the ball, and held on.

Having taken the catch, the skipper was in disbelief himself. He kept his hand raised and sprinted towards his team to celebrate. Bowler Mohammed Siraj and batter Virat Kohli were stunned as well, running towards Sharma with shock on their faces.
This being the fifth wicket of the inning, this moment kicked off the Bangladesh inning collapse. At the time Rohit Sharma grabbed the catch, NAjmul Shanto’s team was 148/5 in the 50th over. But within the next 25 overs, the team would be all-out.
Shakib Al Hasan was dismissed for cheap by Ravichandran Ashwin, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam lost their wickets to Jasprit Bumrah, Hasan Mahmud was dismissed by Siraj, and Khaled Ahmed was caught and bowled by Ravindra Jadeja.
Monimul Haque finished the inning unbeaten after having scored a fighting century. His final score was 107 off 194 balls.
