Today, as Rohit celebrates his 38th birthday, his mother, Purnima Sharma, posted a collage of pictures on Instagram. These pictures range from his childhood photos to previous birthday and festival celebrations, and his pictures with his parents in a Mumbai Indians jersey.
In the middle of it all, there is a caption, which reads, “Happy birthday to a great son.”
Rohit Sharma is currently playing for MI in IPL 2025. One of the greatest players in league history, Rohit has not had the best campaign in this competition this year. In the nine games he has played so far, he has scored 240 runs at an average of 30 and a strike rate of 156.86.
However, the former Mumbai Indians captain has, in recent games, found some form. In the last three games, he has made at least 70 runs on two occasions. Against CSK at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, he scored 76* in 45 deliveries. And then, against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad, he scored 70 off 46.
More crucially, the Indians have found some excellent form in IPL 2025. A team that lost four out of their first five games has now won five matches in a row. From the bottom of the table, they have climbed to second with 12 points, six wins, and a fantastic net run rate in 10 games.
As for Rohit Sharma, after IPL 2025, he will captain the Indian Cricket Team in one of the most important international cricket series of the year, a five-match Test series in England against the Three Lions.
