Rohit Sharma Hit Mitchell Starc For 29 Runs: India defeated Australia in their last Super 8 match to not only book a place in the semi-finals of the 2024 T20 World Cup but also did their best to kick the Aussies out of the tournament altogether.
Rohit Sharma’s men defeated Australia by 24 runs in what was a clinical display by the Men in Blue with the bat and the ball. Being put to bat first after losing the toss, India notched up an impressive total of 205 in their 20 overs.
In response, the Kangaroos got off to a fine start in their chase but faltered around the halfway mark. Despite Travis Head doing well against India once again by scoring 76-off-43, Australia fell short by 24 runs at the end.
This result meant that India finished on top of Group 1 in the Super 8. Not only that but now that Afghanistan has defeated Bangladesh in the last Super 8 game, Australia will not make it to the semi-finals.

Rohit Sharma walked out with an attack on his mind. The skipper, who has shown attacking intent but has lacked in big runs this tournament (apart from a 50 against Ireland), scored 92 runs in 41 deliveries, not slowing down around milestones and attacking from the word go.
