Rohit Sharma Gets Out For 3 In The 2nd Test V AUS: Indian Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma has been dismissed by Scott Boland for just three runs on Day One of the ongoing second Australia vs India Test match as India looks in big trouble.
India is taking on Australia in the first Test of the five-game Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Adelaide Oval. It is a day/night Test match played with the pink ball. This is expected to make this game, especially the first couple of days, a breeze for the bowlers.
India won the first Test of the series in Perth by a whopping 295 runs. Incumbent captain Jasprit Bumrah was nigh on unplayable and won the Player of the Match award for his eight wickets in two innings.
Rohit, who missed the first Test due to the birth of his child, has returned to captain the side. He won the toss before the start of the day’s play today and decided to bat first.
It has not been a good start to the day for the Men in Blue, as Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a massive century in the previous game, got out for a golden duck by Mitchell Starc on the first ball of the match. KL Rahul and Shubman Gill then put up a 69-run partnership, which broke when a struggling Rahul became Starc’s second wicket as he edged the ball to gully.
Soon after that, Virat Kohli, who too scored a ton in the last match, became Starc’s third wicket of the day when he nicked the ball towards Steve Smith at second slip and was caught.
Shubman Gill was dismissed in the very next over. Scott Boland bowled it full and straight towards the legs, and Gill could not play the ball, which struck his pads, and he was given out lbw. This brought out skipper Sharma, who came in to bat at No. 6, way lower than where he usually bats as an opener.

And just like that, the first session ended after 23 overs, and India was 82/4. But India’s start of the second session continued this trend of regular wickets falling. In the 26th over, Boland keeps it full and traps Rohit Sharma in front of the stumps as India loses their captain and fifth wicket at the score of 87.
Rishabh Pant and Nitish Kumar Reddy, India’s last proper batting duo, have now taken the team past the 100-run mark as it becomes increasingly unlikely that the Men in Blue will bat for the entire first day in this second India vs Australia Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
