Rohit Sharma Fires At His Teammates: Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma hits out at his team-mates following their crushing defeat against South Africa in the first of two Test matches to be played between the two nations.
In the final leg of India’s tour to South Africa, the two teams are engaging in a two-match Test series. The first match of the series saw the hosts being humiliated due to losing the contest by an innings and 32 runs.
India’s batting looked hapless in front of the South African pace attack. Kagiso Rabada and debutant Nandre Burger took 7 wickets each in the match, with Rabada claiming a fifer in the first innings.
India was all-out for 245 in the first innings as KL Rahul stood alone with a century. The second innings was abysmal, seeing India being bowled out for just 131 runs.
India’s bowling too wasn’t all sunshine, quite on the contrary in fact. The unit led by Jasprit Bumrah allowed South Africa to put up a massive total of 408, with Dean Elgar playing a classic innings for 185 runs.

And it was all aspects of India’s cricket in this Test match that came under fire from Rohit Sharma post-match.
“We were not good enough to win. We didn’t exploit conditions with the ball and didn’t show up today with the bat. If we want to win tests overseas, we have to come together collectively and we didn’t do that. Our batters were challenged and we didn’t adapt well,” said Sharma.
India will not look to tie the Test series against South Africa as the 2nd and final match will start on January 3.
