Rohit Sharma Abused Liton Das: India captain Rohit Sharma hurled an expletive while giving an aggressive send-off to Bangladesh opener Liton Das during the India vs Bangladesh encounter on Saturday in Antigua.
At the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, India hammered Bangladesh by 50 runs with Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav playing the starring roles with bat and ball, respectively.
This victory, following their 47-run win over Afghanistan, has propelled India’s net run rate to +2.425, which means India have one foot already in the semi-final before their last Super 8 round match against Australia.
After being asked to bat first, India posted 196 on the board with significant contributions from five of the top six batters. Rohit Sharma scored 23 (11), Virat Kohli scored 37 (28), Rishabh Pant scored 36 (24), and Shivam Dube scored 34 (24), but the star of India’s batting in this game was Pandya, who blasted a 27-ball half-century.
With the ball as well, Pandya made an important contribution by giving India their first breakthrough by dismissing opener Liton Das.

Video: Rohit Sharma abused Liton Das in his send-off
Das pulled Pandya for a six on the legside. However, on the next ball, Pandya took pace off the ball as Liton attempted the same shot. This time, though, he couldn’t clear the fence and Suryakumar Yadav took a good catch at deep square leg.
India captain Rohit Sharma was pumped up with this first breakthrough. He celebrated by punching his fist in the air aggressively before hurling down the “Bhenc**” abuse in giving Das a send-off.

The Indian bowlers were all over the Bangladeshi batters, especially Kuldeep and Bumrah. Kuldeep picked up three wickets while giving away 19 runs and Bumrah returned with sensational figures of 2/13 as India restricted Bangladesh to 146.
While India are all but confirmed of a semi-final spot, Bangladesh are all but out of the competition with two losses in two games and an NRR of -2.489.
