According to the reports, The BCCI Centre of Excellence hasn’t given clearance for Sanju for wicketkeeping in these matches.
In the team meeting, Sanju Samson addressed the news himself to the other RR players by saying:
“Finally, as I said, I am actually not completely fit for the next three more games. So I think, there are a lot of leaders in this group. I think from the past few years, there have been some great people who have taken care of this environment really nicely. But for the next three games, Riyan will be leading the team. He is well capable to do it. I expect everyone to support him and be with him.”

Sanju Samson has been in incredible form in T20s lately and cemented as India’s No. 1 wicketkeeper-batter in the format. Sanju’s absence behind the stumps will be a little problem for the team but Dhruv Jurel will be there to fill the space in the initial 3 games.
Rajasthan Royals will play Sunrisers Hyderabad, the IPL 2024 finalists, in the second match of the IPL 2025 on March 23 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hydeabad.
