Yashasvi Jaiswal became the owner of a rare record. The 22-year-old became the first Indian, after Sunil Gavaskar, to score 700 runs in a single series. He surpassed Virat Kohli’s 655 runs and is nearing Sunil Gavaskar’s 774.
2. Fastest Indian to Score 1000 Runs in Test Cricket
Jaiswal became the fastest player to reach the 1000-run milestone. Along the journey, he surpassed Cheteshwar Pujara, Mayank Agarwal, and Sunil Gavaskar. He took just 16 innings to score 1000 runs.
3. Among the Youngest Indians to Score 1000 Runs
Jaiswal also entered the list of the youngest players to score 1000 runs in Test cricket. The list includes master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev.
4. 2nd Best Average to Reach 1000 Runs in Tests
Jaiswal reached 1000 runs with a stunning 71, which is on par with Cheteshwar Pujara. Vinod Kambli is the only one ahead of him, with a mammoth average of 83.33.
5. Most Sixes by an Indian Against a Single Team
Yashaswi Jaiswal thrashed the record of Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma to become the first Indian to hit more sixes against a single team. Jaiswal hit a mind-boggling 26 sixes in just 9 innings against England.
