Real Madrid to Sell Vinicius Jr: Real Madrid might be looking to offload their star striker, Vinicius Jr., at the end of the ongoing season, as he has not been as productive as he was last season, nor is he gelling too well with his current teammates.
The Brazilian superstar played a major role in his side winning the double last season, that is, winning La Liga and the UEFA Champions League. He scored 25 and assisted 11 goals in 40 games across all competitions in 2023-24. His performances were so good that season that he was a frontrunner in the Ballon d’Or rankings and ultimately finished second, with many believing the 24-year-old should have won the prestigious award.
However, the 2024-25 season has been a bit of a struggle for Vini. In terms of pure statistics, he has 18 goals and 11 assists in 39 matches so far; he is also lacking in other statistics this season as compared to the last. However, it has been his conduct, on and off the field, that has been a little more troublesome.

First, the issues only extended to his opponents. His scuffles with Mallorca’s Pablo Maffeo and Dani Ceballos of Espanyol in the past few months are well documented. But now, this issue has gone up a notch as Vinicius is now getting into arguments with his own teammates on the pitch.
In February, Los Blancos took on Leganes in the Copa Del Rey quarter-final. With Real being 2-1 up in the match, Madrid and Croatia legend Luka Modric snapped at Vini for his lack of effort while defending.
In a more recent clash, the second leg of the Round of 16 match in the UEFA Champions League between cross-town Real and Athletico Madrid, at one point in the match, Jude Bellingham got frustrated with Vini’s lack of tracking back and helping the team in defence. He then gestured toward the Brazilian, who confronted the English midfielder and then turned his frustration towards manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Real Madrid to Sell Vinicius Jr
According to a report by SPORT, these incidents are the reason behind a rift forming between Vinicius Jr. and his teammates.
His contract with Real Madrid extends to 2027. However, the Brazilian winger is now demanding a higher salary than the latest Galactico to join the Madridistas, Kylian Mbappe. This demand might also play a role in Real Madrid’s seeming willingness to offload their megastar, Vini Jr., this summer, according to a report by Fichajes.net.
The Madrid-based club reportedly rejected a 300 million euro offer for Vinicius from Saudi Arabia last summer. This offer is still on the table. So, despite club president Florentino Perez showing a lot of patience with his star striker, he might just give in and sell arguably the best winger in the world.
