Having already confirmed their spot in the next round of the Champions League even before this match, Real Madrid came into this match to continue their winning record in the competition this season as they and Manchester City are the only teams to have won all 5 of their matches so far.
Surprisingly, it was Napoli who kicked off the scoring in this match in the 9th minute. Kvicha Kvaratskhelia curled in a great cross into the box. But instead of taking a shot, Giovanni Di Lorenzo nudged the ball towards Giovanni Simeone and tapped the ball in. The referee did have to confirm whether the ball went out of play at some moment, but that was not the case, 0-1.

But Real Madrid did not take much time to tie the score up. In the 11th minute, Brahim Diaz showed his skills on the ball to go past a couple of defenders at the halfway line. He then powered through the defence and passed the ball to Rodrygo inside the area. The Brazilian striker took stock of the situation with a touch and then rocketed the ball into the top-right corner, 1-1.
As per the Real Madrid Defeat Napoli In Champions League. Rodygo had another massive chance just a couple of minutes later, but the ball sailed way over the Napoli goal.
The Madridistas did not have to wait much longer to gain the lead in the match. In the 22nd minute, an on-point cross by David Alaba into the box found who else but Jude Bellingham. The latest Real Madrid superstar got off his marker and headed the ball into the goal for his fourth goal in as many matches in the Champions League this season, 2-1.

And that is how the half ended. Despite both teams creating promising chances in the remaining time, none of the decent shots were anywhere near target.
The second half started with a bang, as Napoli tied the score up. A pass by Di Lorenzo finds midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, whose first shot on goal was saved by Madrid keeper Andriy Lunin. But the deflection landed in Anguissa’s feet again, who did not miss his second chance and struck a thunderous half-volley into the top-left corner, 2-2.
Napoli star-striker Victor Osimhen almost found a Kvaratskhelia pass in front of the goal, before Federico Valverde slid in with a tackle. On the other side of the pitch Spanish striker Joselu could not score from a point-blank range and hit it just wide.

A few minutes later, Madrid left-back Ferland Mendy is brought down in the opposition box by Di Lorenzo. Despite Mendy’s teammates appealing, the referee’s decision was No Penalty.
At this point, Real Madrid started creating pressure on the Napoli line, coming close to scoring a multiple occasions before they got their third. In the 84th minute, a pass from Antonio Rudiger finds 19-year-old midfielder Nico Paz, who fires a long-range shot into the bottom-right corner. This was Paz’s first goal for the Real Madrid senior side, 3-2.

As for other teams in the group, Union Berlin is already out of the competition. Napoli, second in the group with 7 points, will take on Braga with 4 points on third spot. Braga will have to win with 2 goals or more against Napoli on Matchday 6 to leap over the Italian club on goal difference.
