Ravichandran Ashwin Reaches 100 Test Milestone: Ravichandran Ashwin will be entering an elite class of cricketers to have played 100 Test matches when India takes on England in the fifth match of their five-Test series.
Having played in 99 Tests in his career, Ravi Ashwin is one of, if not the greatest spinner of the modern times. He recently went past the 500-wicket mark in the format and now stands at 507.
Ashwin’s 100th Test will be played from March 7-11 in the majestic HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala and will be the final match of what has been an exciting and action-packed Test series. While India does have an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series, the English will fight in this match for pride more than anything.

“100th Test matters a lot to me, but it matters more to my father, mother, wife and even my kids. My kids are more excited about the Test. Families go through a lot during a player’s journey. My father still answers 40 calls on what his son did during a game,” he said.
The Chennai native then went on to say that the journey of these past 99 Tests has been better than the destination of the 100th Test milestone, saying –
“It’s a big occasion, from the look and sound of it. More than destination, the journey has been special.”
Ravichandran not only became the ninth bowler in Test history, he also became the first Indian to take 100 wickets and score 1000 runs against England in Test cricket and only the fourth player to have ever done so.
