Ravi Shastri Witches Virat Kohli On His Birthday: Former Indian cricketer and now legendary commentator Ravi Shastri has wished Indian star batter Virat Kohli a happy birthday and tells the former captain that his time will arrive soon.
Today is November 5, 2024, which is the 36th birthday of the legendary Indian Cricket Team batsman Virat Kohli. King Kohli needs no introduction. He has arguably been the best batsman in the world for over a decade and has been carrying the torch of India’s rich batting history passed down to him by Sachin Tendulkar.
Apart from being a batter with several international records to his name, including being the only player to score 50 ODI centuries, Virst is also the most successful captain in Indian cricket history in terms of winning percentages across all formats.
For a long time during Kohli’s captaincy, the head coach of the national team was Ravi Shastri. The two seemingly got along well and created arguably the most dominant version of the Indian Cricket Team.
The two remain friends after working together for four years, with Shastri talking about Virat like an old friend on several occasions.

Virat, having turned 36, is in the final few years of his career. Despite being the greatest Indian batter since Tendulkar, he is currently under fire for his long-running poor form, which culminated in the recent home Test series against New Zealand, which India lost 3-0.
In the six innings in this series, he only crossed the 10-run mark twice, one of which was a solid 70, while the other was a 17-run inning. In the last match in Mumbai, he scored a combined five runs.
Ravi Shastri Witches Virat Kohli On His Birthday
So naturally, Virat Kohli has been taking a lot of heat from the fans. In times as such, Ravi Shastri has emerged with a heartfelt and encouraging birthday wish for Kohli. The former Indian head coach took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote this for Virat,
“Many happy returns of the day champ. Have a good one. Your time soon coming. God bless.”
As can be seen, he inserted an image of the two hugging in the tweet. This image is from after India won the 2024 T20 World Cup, in the final of which Virat Kohli was the Player of the Match.
This image is even more significant when we remember that despite being the best team in the world during the Shastri-Kohli administration, India did not win an ICC trophy in that period. In the 2019 ODI World Cup, the team tragically lost in the semi-final; in the 2021 World Test Championship, they were thrashed by New Zealand in the final; and in the 2021 T20 World Cup, which was Ravi’s last tournament as the coach, India was eliminated in the group stage.
