WWE Super Randy Orton has revealed that he wants career rival and long-time friend John Cena to induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Randy is the most experienced and tenured star in the company today. With over 2800 matches under his belt, he has been a regular on WWE’s TV product since making his debut in 2002. For the past 22 years, he has been with the company.
Unlike stars like John Cena and The Rock, Orton has been at the top of the business for over two decades and has not left to pursue a career in Hollywood. The perfect embodiment of a WWE Superstar, his longevity, skill, and ability to play menacing characters put him in the conversation of being the greatest of all time. His 14 World titles and countless other championship reigns do certainly help with the argument.
With all that he has accomplished in his career, The Viper is guaranteed to be in the Hall of Fame one day. Not only that, but he will have the top spot in whatever class he joins the HOF.
In the WWE, a person is inducted into the Hall of Fame by someone close to them or someone significant to their career. For example, in 2012, Edge was inducted by friend and long-time tag partner Christian. For a more recent example, 2024 headliner Paul Heyman was inducted by Roman Reigns, as the two have been an on-screen act for about four years.
Randy will not be the first person from his family to enter the WWE Hall of Fame, as his father, ‘Cowboy’ Bob Orton, is in it as well.

But who does The Apex Predator want to be inducted by? According to him, the answer is simple: John Cena. The two had an on-and-off rivalry for years when they were active. The yin-and-yang of the WWE main event scene was that while Cena was the protagonist of the WWE universe, Orton was his antagonist. The two have wrestled countless times against one another on TV, live events, and Premium Live Events.
In a recent appearance on ‘What Do You Wanna Talk About?’ the talk show of WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, The Legend Killer was questioned about his legacy and future Hall of Fame induction, to which he revealed that he wants Cena to induct him.
“I feel like if I’m lucky enough to be in the Hall of Fame, I would want it to be when things are settled and over. I feel like that’s how it has to come about. But as far as, gosh, I almost even don’t want to say because I feel like he’d hear this and then feel obligated, but maybe John [Cena],” said Orton.
Randy Orton is a 14-time World Champion. He is currently embroiled in a feud with World Heavyweight Champion Gunther and will challenge for his 15th world title at the Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event, which will take place on August 31 in the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany.
