Rajat Patidar Goes For 26 In IPL 2025 Final: Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar has been dismissed for 26 in the final of the Indian Premier League 2025. This was the third wicket lost by the side, as the batting team now finds themselves in trouble.
The RCB vs PBKS final of IPL 2025 is being played in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and saw the Punjab Kings win the toss and decide to field first on a pitch that is expected to get flatter as the match goes on.

RCB got off to a decent start to their inning, with attacking opener Phil Salt taking charge of making full use of the field restrictions in the powerplay. However, Salt was dismissed in the second over by Kyle Jamieson after the Englishman skied the ball, with PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer taking a great catch at mid-on.
Then, to partner Virat Kohli, in came Mayank Agarwal, who has been somewhat of a revelation after being brought in as a replacement in the squad. Mayank then took the attacking duties, hitting a few boundaries as the pair of batters saw the powerplay through, with the score after six overs being 55/1.
However, as spin was introduced in the seventh over in the form of Yuzvendra Chahal, Agarwal looked to keep the attack going but was instead caught on deep backwards square leg.
With two wickets down at 55, the Royal Challengers looked in trouble as the skipper walked in to bat at No. 4. From here on, both Virat and Patidar started rotating strike, scoring boundaries, and picking up the run rate. At the 10-over mark, the score was 87/2, which is a little low for this pitch, but the innings was stable.

But then, Jamieson returned to bowl the 11th over, and on the fifth ball of the over, he trapped Rajat Patidar in front of the stumps. The umpire signalled out, and there was no doubt in anybody’s mind, so much so that no review was taken. Patidar had been dismissed for 26 off 16 after hitting one 4 and two 6s.

The team score at this point was 96/3 at the end of the 11th over, and Kyle Jamieson had picked up two wickets. And while a dangerous middle order remains, there are signs of trouble in this inning, which could be seen on the faces of fans and even those sitting in the pavilion.
On a pitch like tonight’s, a score of 200 might not even be enough. That score was not enough in Qualifier 2, when the Punjab Kings beat the Mumbai Indians. And tonight’s track for the RCB vs PBKS match is more conducive to batting.
