The India under-19 will host Australia under-19 for three 50-over matches in Puducherry on September 21, 23, and 26. The two teams will then compete in two four-day red-ball games in Chennai, starting on September 30 and October 7.
Uttar Pradesh’s Mohamed Amaan is the skipper of the 50-over team, while Madhya Pradesh’s Soham Patwardhan will lead the side in the red-ball fixtures.
18-year-old Samit is a batting all-rounder from Karnataka.
He is currently playing in the Maharaja T20 Trophy in Bangalore for the Mysuru Warriors. This is his first senior men’s T20 competition. In seven innings so far, Samit has scored 82 runs at a strike rate of 114.
Earlier this year, Samit played a crucial role in Karnataka’s title-winning run in the Cooch Behar Trophy, which is the premier four-day red-ball tournament for under-19 men’s cricketers in India. There he scored 362 runs and snared 16 wickets in eight games, including two wickets in the final against Mumbai.
