All of these players will be in action in the upcoming test series against Bangladesh.
Bumrah recently got a huge reception from the fans in Chennai, where he attended an event.
Speaking with journalist Vimal Kumar on his YouTube channel, R Ashwin hailed Bumrah as the most valuable Indian player currently. Bumrah helped India win the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and West Indies earlier this year. He was named the Man of the Tournament for his terrific bowling performances throughout the competition.
“We Chennai people appreciate bowlers a lot. He was here for an event as a chief guest 4-5 days ago. We gave him a Rajni treatment. We (Chennai people) treat bowlers very nicely. He should be treated as a champion. I don’t want to name, but Jasprit Bumrah is the most valuable Indian cricketer right now,” Ashwin said.
I am so glad and happy that we are celebrating Jasprit Bumrah: R Ashwin
Bumrah made his ODI and T20I debut in 2016 and his test debut in 2018. He’s climbed the ladder of success rapidly, by learning skills quickly and being very consistent across the three formats. Bumrah is unarguably the best all-format fast bowler in the world right now.

Ashwin sees a change in perspective among the fans and media with regards to bowlers being celebrated as much as the batters. India has always been a batsman-celebrating country, but over the past decade, the bowlers have been getting limelight regularly.
Ashwin added, “India has always been the country that is a batsman-dominated country, and it’s never going to change. But I am so glad and happy that we are celebrating Jasprit Bumrah. Jasprit Bumrah is a once-in-a-generation bowler. We should celebrate him even more.”
India will resume their cricketing action with a two-match Test series against Bangladesh. India will host Bangladesh and New Zealand before they fly out to Australia for a five-match Test series.
