Popular Superstars In France Ahead Of Backlash: With WWE’s Backlash Premium Live Event right around the corner, major WWE stars are reported to make an appearance on the show.
Backlash 2024 will be WWE’s first PLE in France, as the show will take place at the LDLC Arena in Lyon on May 4, 2024. The show will kick off at 6 p.m. local time (9:30 p.m. IST).
With it being WWE’s first PLE in Europe since Money in the Bank 2023 in London, England, the company will be looking to make a big impact on a newer market.

This might be the goal behind the names rumoured to be on the show. PWInsider has reported that Hollywood star John Cena and multi-time World Champion will make an appearance on Backlash.
The 16-time World Champion has a habit of making surprise appearances at WWE’s international shows, as he did at MiTB last year. He was even spotted in France recently, ahead of the show.
As for Charlotte Fair, she has been out with a knee injury she suffered in December 2023 while facing Asuka on an episode of SmackDown, which forced her to miss WrestleMania 40. She has been aggressively rehabbing since and is ahead of schedule for recovery.
Only five matches have been announced for the show, which has become somewhat of a trend for WWE PLEs besides WrestleMania. Fresh off winning the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 40 about a month ago, Cody Rhodes will defend the title for the first time on TV against AJ Styles.
Another man who will make his first title defence on the night is World Heavyweight Champion Damien Priest, who will be challenged by “Main Event” Jey Uso. Yet another champion who won the title at WrestleMania was Bayley, who will defend the WWE Women’s Championship in a triple-threat match against Naomi and Tiffany Stratton.
In the first of the two tag matches of the night, the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) will defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against the super-team of Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill.
And finally, the team of Randy Orton and Kevin Owens (now being called R-KO) will face the new leader of The Bloodline, Solo Sikoa, and the latest member of the faction, Tama Tonga.
