PBKS IPL 2026 Squad: The IPL 2026 auction has come to a rest, and we now have the full picture of how the Punjab Kings will shape up in the upcoming season of the biggest franchise cricket league in the world.
The Kings came into the auction with a small budget of Rs 11.50 crore, the second smallest in the league. This was obvious, seeing that this team made it to the final for only the second time in their history last season.

First up, the retained players. This team retained much of their squad, including their stellar batting order. Led by captain Shreyas Iyer, other Indian batters in this team include Priyansh Arya, Nehal Wadhera, Pyla Avinash, Harnoor Singh, and wicketkeepers Prabhsimran Singh and Vishnu Vinod.
Mitchell Owen is the only overseas specialist batter for Punjab.
PBKS also had a stacked all-rounders core before the auction, having international players like Marcus Stoinis, Marco Jansen, and Azmatullah Omarzai joined by Indian star power in Shashank Singh, Musheer Khan, and Suryansh Shedge.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Harpreet Brar formed a solid spin duo last season. As for the pacers, the Kings have a full battery of those. Their pace attack is headlined by Arshdeep Singh and also includes the likes of Lockie Ferguson, Xavier Bartlett, Vijaykumar Vyshak, and Yash Thakur.
The Punjab Kings were not active participants in the auction, not making any buys in the first four hours.
Before the second accelerated round of the auction, where previously unsold players are brought back on the docket, Punjab made only one buy, Australian all-rounder Cooper Connolly for Rs. 3 crore.
The Kings finished their night in the second accelerated round, where they bought three players. First was Australian all-rounder Ben Dwarshuis for Rs. 4.40 crore. This was followed by the purchase of Karnataka leg spinner all-rounder Praveen Dubey for Rs. 30 lakh.
With their last pick of the IPL 2026 auction, the Punjab Kings bought another uncapped leggie, Vishal Nishad, for Rs. 30 lakh.
