Parth Jindal Reacts to Sanju Samson Dismissal: Delhi Capitals chairman Parth Jindal was seen showing his emotions at an important juncture of his side’s recent match against the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. The Internet is not reacting well to him.
DC took on RR in Match 56 of the IPL 2024. Batting first, the Capitals put up a massive total of 221 on the backs of superb 50s by Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abhishek Porel.
In response, RR lost both of its openers in the powerplay, but captain Sanju Samson kept the run rate in check. Building partnerships with Riyan Parag and Shubham Dubey, he played a splendid knock of 86-off-46.
On the fourth ball of the 16th over, Sanju struck the ball towards long-on and was caught right on the boundary by Shai Hope. Due to Hope’s proximity to the rope, the umpire went upstairs.
In the replays, it seemed like the West Indian’s feet touched the skirt of the boundary, but the third umpire could not reach a conclusion, and the Royals captain was given out.
This did not thrill the RR camp, as the players and coaches questioned the decision. Sanju himself had a lengthy discussion with the umpires but ultimately had to depart the pitch.
Parth Jindal Reacts To Sanju Samson Dismissal
When Samson was discussing the decision with the on-field umpires, the camera focused on DC Chairman Parth Jindal, who is the director of JSW Sports. The conglomerate owns 50% of the franchise.
Jindal was seen pointing aggressively towards the pitch, maybe towards Samson himself, and shouting, “Out Hai! Out Hai!” (It’s Out! It’s Out).
This action from an owner, coupled with the belief that Sanju Samson should not have been given out, made a few fans on social media confused and irritated.
This is how people on X reacted to Parth Jindal’s actions:
The Rajasthan Royals lost the plot following Sanju’s dismissal. From 162/4, they collapsed to 194/8 and lost the match by 20 runs. With that loss, RR is second on the table with 16 points in 11 matches. In their next game, they will face five-time champions the Chennai Super Kings on May 11 in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
