Babar Azam has been under the scrutiny of his fans and former cricketers since returning as Pakistan skipper. The recent T20I World Cup embarrassment only increased it.
The Greens now have their Test series planned against Bangladesh in August and are also hosting the 2025 Champions Trophy. While it’s still unclear what the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decides about who should lead them in ODIs and T20Is, Pakistan player Aamer Jamal made a big statement about Babar Azam and Shan Masood’s captaincy.

‘He Is A Bit Defensive’: Pak Player Reveals Big About the Babar Captaincy
Jamal said that he has been ‘on good terms with Shan’ since he started playing first-class cricket. When it comes to captaincy, Jamal said that, both Babar Azam and Shan Masood have completely different approaches. While Babar tries to secure the team by being defensive, Shan is a bit aggressive in his approach.
“When it comes to captaincy, both are different. I have been on good terms with Shan Bhai since I started playing first-class cricket. When I joined the Pakistan team for a practice session, he treated me well,” Aamer Jamal said.
“Bobby bhai is a bit defensive. He thinks about securing the team. Shan bhai is aggressive and he believes if somebody throws a punch at you, you should return the favor in the same way.”
