OMA vs SCO Match Highlights And Report-T20 WC: Oman became the first team to be eliminated from the race to the Super 8 in the ICC T20 World Cup after they lost their third game of the tournament on Sunday. Scotland thumped Oman by 7 wickets at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua.
The victory for Scotland was on the cards, but the manner in which they did it—chasing down 151 runs in 13.1 overs—meant their net run rate shot up to +2.164, which is much better than Namibia’s -0.309 and England’s -1.800. Scotland have five points in three games and sit at the top of the points table in Group B.
There is now a decent chance that Scotland, should they avoid a heavy defeat against Australia, can progress to the Super 8 over England, the defending champions.

In the 7th over, they lost veteran batter Zeeshan Maqsood to spinner Mark Watt before Khalid Kail suffered a run out. Opener Pratik Athavale was joined by Ayaan Khan and both formed a partnership of 43 (41) which helped Oman resurrect their innings but that didn’t really take them to a match-winning total. Athavale scored 54 (40) and Ayaan scored 41* (39). For Scotland, Brad Wheal (1/19) and Watt (1/25) were economical.
