Nicholas Pooran Smashes A Maximum to Reach Fifty: Lucknow Super Giants batter Nicholas Pooran smashed a giant six to reach his third half-century of the IPL 2025. With this, he regained the Orange Cap of the season, which he had lost in the same innings to his colleague Mitchell Marsh.
Pooran scored 87 runs without losing his wicket, which helped LSG to put forward a mammoth total in front of the hosts, Kolkata Knight Riders, at the Eden Gardens.

In the match, Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Ajinkya Rahane won he toss and elected to bowl first, a decision that they soon started to regret. LSG openers Mitchel Marsh and Aiden Markram took charge and punished the Kolkatan bowlers back and forth. Markram scored 47 runs out of 28 balls while Marsh went on to score a fifty, the 4th of this season. Marsh also became the leader in the list of most fifties in IPL 2025.
Marsh’s 81 runs out of 48 balls made him the owner of the orange cap for the most runs in IPL 2025, one that had been held by Pooran till now. But this lasted only until the latter took to the crease.
Pooran hit 8 maximums and 7 fours in his thunderous innings to take his run tally of the tournament to 288 runs.
LSG posed a huge target of 239 runs in front of the Knight Riders. Replying to that, the hosts have made 60 runs in the initial 4 overs at the time this article was written.
