Neymar Injured Again: Brazilian football star Neymar has suffered an injury and has been sidelined from the upcoming games for his current club, Santos. This injury has people raising questions about the fitness and priorities of the legendary footballer.
In January of this year, Neymar returned to his boyhood club, Santos, in the top Brazilian division. This move brought an end to his disastrous over-a-year-long stint at Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, for whom he played less than 10 matches and was injured for over a year despite being one of the highest-paid athletes.
Neymar Injured Again: Missed Games For Santos
Having now returned back to Santos, many believed that the 33-year-old would now focus more on football and stay injury-free, but that has not been the case.
Just over a year following his return to the Brazilian club, Neymar has now been sidelined with a thigh injury. He recently missed the 2-1 defeat of Santos to the Sao Paulo Corinthians in the semifinal of the Paulista Championship last Sunday. This was a painful absence for both the player and the team. While Santos would have benefitted from having a world-class striker in their squad in a crucial game against a rival team, Neymar will surely be troubled with his fourth injury since joining Al Hilal in August 2023.
The former Barcelona player has now opened up about his injury, claiming that he wasn’t available for his club in the recent match because he had been feeling some pain in recent weeks and felt it again while testing on the morning of the game against the Corinthians, saying,
“Unfortunately, I felt some pain in the recent weeks… I really wanted to help the team. Then we made tests in the morning, but I felt pain again.”

Neymar is expected to make a full recovery in about a week. He has now also been called up for duty by the Brazilian national team scout 15 months after his last appearance in October 2023, during which he suffered his ACL tear, which kept him out for a year.
“Let’s not make a big deal out of it. He felt some discomfort and didn’t believe he was able to give his best,” said Santos manager Pedro Caixinha ahead of Neymar appearing in the Brazilian jersey against arch-rivals Argentina on March 20.
