Clearly, the highlight of the fight was Goyat’s head movement. The way he gave his opponent a chance to hit him just to move his head away was brilliant. And although he did look fatigued, especially in the second half of the fight, that made no impact on his bobbing and weaving.
Even before the last round, the fight was over, as all the rounds had unanimously been won by Neeraj Goyat to that point. Only a knockout could save the fight for the Brazilian, a knockout that never came as Neeraj won the fight by unanimous decision 60-54 in what was a sloppy yet entertaining bout.
In this one-sided fight, while Goyat landed 171 of his 481 pouches with an accuracy of 36%, Nunes only managed to connect 87 out of his 365 with an accuracy of 24%. This fight might be a massive step in Neeraj Goyat’s journey to become a household name in the world of boxing.
