Nasser Hussain Looks for Kohli vs Anderson Battle: Former England skipper and now commentator Nasser Hussain is hopeful of Virat Kohli being available for the remainder of the three Test matches in the ongoing series. Hussain wishes to see Kohli resume his battle with James Anderson; it could very likely be the last time these two giants face off in Test cricket.
Anderson has dominated Virat Kohli in his pace-friendly home conditions, whereas the Indian superstar has had the upper hand over the 41-year-old pacer in Indian conditions. In all, Kohli averages 43 against James Anderson in Test cricket and has been dismissed 7 times by the veteran seamer.
Virat Kohli missed the first two Tests in Hyderabad and Vizag, citing personal reasons. There is a week’s time to go for the third Test, but it is not yet confirmed if and when he will be available. Head coach Rahul Dravid, after the win in Vizag, said that the selectors will speak with Kohli before announcing the squad this week.
Nasser Hussain Looks for Kohli vs Anderson Battle
Speaking with the Daily Mail, Nasser Hussain said the series has missed the spice, hype, and class of the battle between Kohli and Anderson.
“I hope he does come back because the only thing this series has been missing is the battle between Kohli and Jimmy Anderson. I’m looking forward to that,” Hussain said.

India are more ruthless with Virat Kohli in the team: Nasser Hussain
The 55-year-old commentator believes India have been lacking ruthlessness in the first two games. India lost the first Test by 28 runs, and the Test in Vizag was in balance for the majority of the time.
Hussain feels Kohli’s presence will add to the ruthlessness in the Indian team that had been missing in the first two Tests.
“The one thing about India is that in three of their four innings they have been a bit sloppy. I know Rahul Dravid and he would have been ticking inside at some of the dismissals so far. India will think, ‘We keep on giving England a sniff here, let’s be more ruthless’. And the one thing Kohli is, is absolutely ruthless,” he added.
“If Virat Kohli is back for the last 3 Tests, then a more ruthless version of the Indian team can be seen on the field.”
Virat Kohli averages 60 in home Test matches. The third Test starts on February 15 in Rajkot.
