Nasser Hussain Compares Kohli and Rohit Captaincy: Nasser Hussain India just finished off a thrilling 5-Test series against England with a whopping 4-1 victory. Despite initial criticism since the loss in the first Test, Rohit had turned the wind and led India to win four Tests in a row. This brought a lot of praise for the skipper, and the late one is from the former English cricketer Nasser Hussain.
Nasser Hussain Compares Kohli and Rohit Captaincy
Nasser Hussain thinks that Rohit handled the pressure drawn from the aggressive England pretty calmly.
“People often think Rohit is not a proactive captain and let things slip away from his hands, but that’s not the case. He is a brilliant captain and makes moves cleverly. He didn’t panic after losing the first Test against England. There have been times when rival captains have been pressured by England due to their aggressive approach, but Rohit is a different skipper.
Another thing Nasser Hussain noticed in Rohit Sharma is the Indian captain’s reflection of his own mistakes and the mentality to correct them.
“He kept learning from his mistakes throughout the series and used the bowlers to perfection. R Ashwin was not used at the start in the first two Tests, which allowed his bunny, Ben Duckett, to score runs at a good pace. However, Rohit realized his shortcomings and brought on Ashwin in the remaining game, which helped India win.
Nasser Hussain drew an interesting comparison between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, stating that the former ‘is always on your face’.
“Rohit is not like Virat Kohli, who wanted to unleash hell on England when India visited the country; Virat is always on your face. Rohit has a fire in his belly but likes to keep things simple and in check,” Nasser Hussain.
