MS Dhoni Stumps Suryakumar Yadav: MS Dhoni may be 43 years old and has diminished his batting impact, but the former CSK captain remains the best man in the world when it comes to affecting stumping dismissals.
This was once again on show when Dhoni stumped the Mumbai Indians’ interim skipper Suryakumar Yadav in the CSK vs MI match on Sunday in Chennai in only 0.12 seconds.
The CSK vs MI rivalry resumed in IPL 2025 with the two teams opening their season at the iconic Chepauk. The Chepauk faithfuls had once again filled the seats to see their mega superstar, Dhoni, in the yellow jersey.
Dhoni sparked them up during MI’s innings when he stumped Yadav swiftly off Noor Ahmad’s bowling. Noor slid a googly that Suryakumar couldn’t get his bat on as he missed his inside out cover drive.
Dhoni collected the ball cleanly and in only a fraction of a second whipped the bails as Suryakumar’s back foot dragged outside the crease. Even as the on-field umpire reviewed it and sent the stumping decision to the third umpire, Dhoni was confident of the dismissal.
