MS Dhoni In The Nets For CSK Ahead Of IPL 2025: Legendary wicket-keeper/batter and former Indian Cricket Team captain MS Dhoni was recently spotted in the nets for the Chennai Super Kings, preparing for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League in 2025, which might be his final tournament in professional cricket.
Dhoni needs no introduction. Not only is he the greatest Indian wicketkeeper in history and a legendary batsman with an international career spanning almost 15 years, but he is also the most successful Indian captain in international cricket ever.
Ever since playing his last match for the national team in the 2019 World Cup and retiring from international cricket in 2020, the 43-year-old has been spending most of his time with his family. But for two months every year, he puts his pads and helmet on and returns to stadiums in front of fans to play for CSK in the IPL.
Well, that is not entirely true. He doesn’t only get onto the field for just the two months that the tournament runs for. As he does not play cricket throughout the year, he also starts training for the IPL a month or so before the tournament starts.

For the past five seasons, speculations have been running wild about whether the latest season would be Dhoni’s last in the league. In 2024, he even gave up the captaincy for the franchise, with which he has won five league titles as the skipper and played under the leadership of Ruturaj Gaikwad.
With the speculations running wilder than previous seasons that this will be Captain Cool’s last season in the IPL, fans have been craving his appearance on the field in whatever way it comes. With the league still being a few weeks away, the fix so far for these fans has been the few glimpses of MS Dhoni in the nets that have been shared on social media, including the most recent capture, in which the Chennai Super Kings and India legend can be seen looking at his bat.

The schedule for IPL 2025 has been released, and CSK will play their opening match of the tournament against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians at their home ground of MA Chidambaram Stadium on March 23.
