MS Dhoni Becomes Animal in New Ad: Former Indian Cricket Team captain and current Chennai Super Kings wicketkeeper MS Dhoni recently recreated scenes from the 2023 blockbuster flick Animal in an ad alongside the original movie’s director, Sandeep Vanga Reddy.
Dhoni, at the age of 43, might be playing some of his last professional cricket when he will represent CSK in IPL 2025. Having captained the side for 16 years and five titles, the legendary wicketkeeper/batter took a backseat in the 2024 season, giving the captaincy up to Ruturaj Gaikwad and coming lower and lower down the order.
While Dhoni has made no announcements, many believe that he is chasing a final title with the Super Kings, this time under a different captain than himself, which might come this year.
MS Dhoni Becomes Animal in New Ad With Director
With the Indian Premier League right around the corner, MSD recently appeared in what had the potential to be an iconic advertisement. In the ad for EMoterade, an electric bicycle company, he can be seen recreating scenes from ‘Animal’ and appears alongside the director of Animal, Sandeep Vanga Reddy. The acclaimed director even directed the ad itself.
Animal was the second-highest-grossing Indian movie of 2023, right behind Jawan. Starring Ranbir Kapoor in an atypical anti-hero role, this movie sparked a lot of conversation and was admired and jeered by different portions of society. However, one cannot argue the impact this film had on Indian pop culture.
In the ad, Dhoni recreated the famous scene from the movie where the protagonist arrives at their destination with a caravan of SUVs and bodyguards. The ad saw the former Indian and CSK captain recreate the scenes from the movie, but with an E-bike, with Sandeep Reddy interrupting in between shots as a director does.
