Mohammed Siraj Bows Down To Jasprit Bumrah: Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowler Mohammed Siraj bowed down to Mumbai Indians star bowler Jasprit Bumrah following the latter’s 5-wicket haul in match 25 of IPL 2024 between the two sides.
MI took on RCB on April 11 in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. With both teams towards the bottom of the table, a win here would be crucial if any of them have the ambitions of making it to the playoffs this season.
MI won the toss and chose to bowl first, and Bumrah did not take much time before showing why he is one of, if not the best pacer in the world right now. In just his second over, he dismissed an in-form and Orange Cap holder Virat Kohli for three runs.
The story of this innings went as follows – everyone who bowled more than one over went at an economy of over 10 (except Shreyas Gopal). On the other hand, Jasprit was taking regular wickets with the ball and finished his four overs with an economy of 5.25.

The 30-year-old ended his quota of overs with the figures 5/21. After Kohli, he also cleaned up captain Faf du Plessis, Mahipal Lomror, Saurav Chauhan, and Vyshak Vijay Kumar.
Despite the slaughter, RCB reached a solid total of 196 at the end of their 20. But this total was not enough for their bowling, which was smacked all over the park. MI reached the target in just the 16th over, thus winning the match by 7 wickets and a whopping 27 balls to spare.
Mohammed Siraj Bows Down To Jasprit Bumrah
After the match, it was all smiles on the field as several team India players from both sides met each other. The best interaction was between Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah, as the former bowed down to the latter as the two met before India’s two ace pacers hugged it out.
While Bumrah was named Player of the Match for his performance, Siraj did not have a good night out. The Hyderabad native consumed 37 runs in just three overs and took no wickets with an economy of 12.33.
With this win, MI has four points in five matches and has climbed to seventh on the table. They will face arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings in their next match on April 14 in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
On the other hand, RCB isn’t on the table with just a singular win in six matches. If they are to have a slight chance of making it to the playoffs, they need to start winning matches now. They will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next match on April 15 in Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
