Matheesha Pathirana is fit for IPL 2024: Chennai Super Kings finally got a breather as their star death-pacer Matheesha Pathirana has been declared fit to play in the IPL 2024. The news is confirmed by his manager, Amila Kalugalage.
Pathirana had suffered a hamstring injury during Sri Lanka’s ODI series against Bangladesh. It was said that his absence would be a great loss for the defending champions, as the team is already struggling with a lot of injury blows, including New Zealand star Devon Conway.

Pathirana’s manager Kalugalage took to Twitter, shared a photo with the bowler, and wrote:
“The answer to “Where’s Pathirana”. He is fit and ready to throw Thunder balls. Be ready.
“Finally a photo together with the Legend.”
Pathirana had missed the third ODI against Bangladesh due to the injury, but now the player is progressing well in terms of his recovery. He is expected to join CSK teammates soon.
Pathirana played a major role in CSK’s triumph last season, as the pacer bagged 19 wickets in 12 games.
New Captain and Injury Blows: How CSK’s 2024 Will Go?
CSK is starting the season with a big change as MS Dhoni decided to transfer the captaincy baton to Ruturaj Gaikwad. On top of that, the team is hit by major injury blows, including Devon Conway and Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman. It would be very difficult for CSK to repeat last year’s gain as the club would be more concentrated on a smooth transformation from the Dhoni era to the Dhoni-less era.
CSK’s campaign in IPL 2024 kicks off against RCB, led by Faf du Plessis, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
