Massive Changes In Duleep Trophy Squads: Several changes have been made to the four Duuleep Trophy squads as some of the players have been called up to the Indian Cricket Team for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.
The ongoing Duleep Trophy had four teams, those being India A, B, C, and D. Several players who have already represented India or are on the periphery of the national team played in this competition. With over a month-long break between international games for India, BCCI announced that domestic tournaments, like this one, will be used to consider the team for the Bangladesh Tests.
After the first round of matches, which saw India A take on India B and India C face India D, the 16-man squad for the first Test, to be played in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium from September 19, has been announced, which is as follows:
India Squad for First Test Vs Bangladesh: Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (wk), Dhruv Jurel (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal
Massive Changes In Duleep Trophy Squads
Many of these players, including India A captain Shubman Gill, have been called up to the national team. This means that all these players will not play in the second round of Duleep Trophy matches. This has resulted in several changes being made in the four squads for the competition.
One of the biggest changes is that Mayank Agarwal is the new captain of India A in Gill’s absence, with Pratham Singh being his replacement in the squad. Vidharba batter Akshay Wadkar will replace KL Rahuk, while U-19 batter SK Rasheed will replace Dhuriv Jurel. Kuldeep Yadav and Akash Deep will be replaced by Shams Mulani and Aaqib Khan.
India A Squad: Mayank Agarwal (C), Riyan Parag, Akshay Wadkar (wk), Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Kushagra (wk), Tanush Kotian, Prasidh Krishna, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan, Kumar, Shaswat Rawat, Pratham Singh, SK Rasheed, Shams Mulani, and Aaqib Khan.

In another massive change, India B has replaced Yashasvi Jaiswal with Rinku Singh. Rishabh Pant and Yash Dayal will be replaced by Madhya Pradesh wicketkeeper Himanshu Mantri and RCB all-rounder Suyash Prabhudesai. And while Sarfaraz Khan is in the India squad as well, he will play in the second round of matches.
India B Squad: Abhimanyu Easwaran (c), Sarfaraz Khan, Musheer Khan, Rinku Singh, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Himanshu Mantri (wk), Washington Sundar, N Jagadeesan (wk), Suyash Prabhudessai, Navdeep Saini, Mukesh Kumar, Rahul Chahar, R Sai Kishore, and Mohit Awasthi.
There are no changes in the India C squad, with no players from here being picked for the Bangladesh Test.
India C Squad: Ruturaj Gaikwad (C), Suryakumar Yadav, Abhishek Porel (wk), Aryan Jurel (wk), Baba Indrajith, Sai Sudharsan Manav Suthar, Anshul Kamboj, Mayank Markande, Hrithik Shokeen, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Sandeep Warrier, Himanshu Chauhan, and Gaurav Yadav.
Lastly, India D will see Axar Patel be replaced by allrounder Nishant Sindhu. Vidwath Kevarappa from India A has been moved to India D as Tushar Deshpande has been sidelined with an injury.
India D Squad: Shreyas Iyer (C), Atharva Taide, Yash Dubey, Devdutt Padikkal, Ricky Bhui, Saransh Jain, Arshdeep Singh, Aditya Thakare, Harshit Rana, Akash Sengupta, KS Bharat (wk), Saurabh Kumar, Sanju Samson (wk), Nishant Sindhu, and Vidwath Kaverappa.
